For September, Kingston Social presents a Cookbook Conversation & In-Store Book Signing with Sarah Copeland, in conversation with local culinary historian and food & drinks educator Annette Tomei.

About Sarah Copeland

Sarah Copeland is an award-winning writer, tastemaker and curator of good living. She is the author of Instant Family Meals, Every Day is Saturday, Feast, and The Newlywed Cookbook. She is also the host of the Food Network series; Every Day is Saturday. Her body of work exemplifies her standard for gorgeous imagery, luscious recipes, and simple luxuries. Sarah’s recipes, images and words focus on whole-foods ingredients and an appetite for life—inspiring confidence, vitality and joy.

Sarah Copeland is the former Food Director at Real Simple magazine and a Food Network veteran; Sarah has spent a decade bringing her live full philosophy to homes across America. Sarah spent several years as a chef in New York City, and St. Tropez, France, and is a culinary school graduate and certified holistic health educator. Also, a trained journalist, Sarah is passionate about storytelling. She and her recipes appear regularly in top publications and websites including The New York Times, Food & Wine, Saveur, Martha Stewart Living, Better Homes and Gardens, TheKitchn, Food52 and Food Network.

She and her husband live in a small village north of New York City, where they raise fruits, vegetables, and their two young children, and host raucous twinkly light dinner parties for friends.

In conversation with Chef Annette Tomei

Annette Tomei is a classically trained chef and a culinary historian with a master’s degree in gastronomy. As a food and drinks educator and culinary tourism specialist, she brings passion and enthusiasm for all things food and drink to life on stage, online, and in the classroom. 

Annette taught culinary arts and wine studies at three of the top culinary institutes in the country, and Food Studies at The New School in NYC. She was also an America's Test Kitchen host onboard Holland America cruise ships. She is the creator of the highly-acclaimed Kitchen Arts & Letters Cookbook Club and founder of Wander, Eat & Tell Experiences. Annette currently teaches hospitality management at The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park and calls Uptown Kingston home.

The mercantile will be open to enjoy before and after the event.
