Cookbook Club: Summer is Farm Fresh!

Attention, cookbook aficionados, food lovers, and farmers’ market fans… announcing Cookbook Club, designed by and for the vibrant community of cookbook enthusiasts that we are creating here at Kingston Social, in partnership with Annette Tomei, a culinary historian and food & drinks educator based in the Hudson Valley. Connect with fellow passionate cooks, cookbook lovers, and food and drink enthusiasts for engaging conversations, scrumptious bites, and delightful sips!

Each gathering will feature a unique theme inspired by the season, a specific place, a cuisine, an ingredient, or a celebration of a renowned author. Our featured cookbook will be handpicked from the carefully-curated collection at Kingston Social. To participate in Kingston Social’s Cookbook Club, the cost is $100 per event/book, plus $50 per guest, which includes:

  • The cookbook to be discussed.

  • Participation in a monthly in-person gathering at Kingston Social, to include a discussion about our experiences reading and cooking from the featured book

  • A menu "assignment" from the featured book with beverage pairings by Chef Annette for home enjoyment

  • One-on-one support from Annette (via email) for questions and cooking tips

  • Exclusive Q&A session with the cookbook authors (via Zoom or in person, based on availability)

  • Additional theme-related resources (such as reading or media suggestions)

  • Themed nibbles prepared by Chef Annette, or a guest chef, plus one paired beverage from a curated selection, to be enjoyed at our gathering!

The theme for our inaugural gathering with Chef Annette on August 7 is Farmer’s Market Fresh and the featured book will be Salad Freak by Jess Damuck. Accompanying the discussion, we will enjoy a summertime menu of small bites inspired by the book, along with wine from our friends at Ester Wine and Spirits in uptown Kingston.
