About Lisa Lerner

Long ago, Lisa Lerner was a professional rubber stamp cutter, children’s party entertainer, and NYC performance artist. Since then, she has been writing children’s stories for educational publishers such as Scholastic and McGraw Hill. She is also the author of JUST LIKE BEAUTY (a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, in development with Lars Von Trier as a movie). Lisa teaches workshops to kids of all ages privately and through The Writers Grotto in San Francisco. A deep believer in the power of community, she is a proud member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, serves as a juror for the annual Scholastic Art and Writing Competition, and is a trustee on the board of the Kingston Public Library. Lisa is writing her next novel faster than the speed of light and you can visit www.lisalerner.com to learn more about what she does with all that extra time.
